The Helly Hansen Lifa Active Stripe Crew Long Sleeve Baselayer is a high-performance baselayer that offers excellent moisture management and lightweight insulation for year-round activities. LIFA ACTIVE is an advanced 2-layer construction that puts 100% LIFA fibers next to the skin and moisture-wicking technical fibers on the outside.

Launched in the early 1970s and improved over the years, Lifa is a hydrophobic fibre that provides insulation and moisture management by drawing moisture away from the skin and transporting it to the surface of the fabric where it evaporates. Lifa fibres are used in the first layer of the base layer garment membrane, i.e. the layer closest to the skin. This, made from Merino wool, is combined with an additional layer of hydrophilic (moisture-wicking) material, which causes sweat to be drawn away from the skin and transported to the second layer where it is absorbed. This allows the wearer to stay warm, dry and comfortable. Lifa fabric is ultra-lightweight.
